I work with an incredibly talented girl named Ashley. The other day I noticed a book on her desk that caught my eye, Sugar Milk: What One Dad Drinks When He Can't Afford Vodka. I loved the cover, so I asked her about it. It turns out that her husband, Ron, wrote the book, and it was just published. The book is his story:
He was leading a successful life. But after an unexpected economic downturn, Ron suddenly began to question everything he knew about success and fatherhood. Ron shares how he remarried, inherited two stepdaughters, and then lost his job, subsequently becoming a stay at home dad. Ron provides a glimpse into how he took lemons and created not only lemonade, but a lifetime of memories with his family. He shares the compelling story of how, without a parenting manual in sight, he learned to fumble his way through fatherhood with modesty, courage, and a whole lot of humor.
The book can be purchased on Amazon.com for only $11.53 (paperback). I ordered the book (which, by the way, has fantastic reviews!), and I cannot wait to read it. Check it out:

MEMORIAL PARK
Last night, Jeepers & I met up with Farin & Bella at Memorial Park for a walk & then dinner at Beck's. I can't believe how big Bella has gotten; she now weighs as much at Jeepers, and she's only 5 months old!!!
Bella ready to go
Jeepers & Bella walking so nicely next to each other
We had to stop a few times throughout the walk so that they could play on the side of trail
Have a GREAT weekend! We have a lot on tap for the weekend, so I'll have a lot of updates & photos to show you by Monday.

Weekend Update
After being introduced to hot yoga a few weeks ago, I have started to go to classes on Sunday. I am so sore today! I caught up on most errands, and I started to reorganize my apartment. I'm hoping to finish by the end of next weekend.
I went to Cedar Creek for lunch on Sunday, and it was GREAT! When you're at Cedar Creek, you feel like you're completely removed from Houston. It almost feels like you're in Austin. I highly recommend it. Here's a pic:
Below is a photo of my sister & Jeepers (in her raincoat) with the Hale's dog, Beau. The pic is a few months old, but you can see part of Jeepers' wardrobe!

Photos... FINALLY
As promised... I have uploaded a couple of photos of my babies! Jeepers & I start 'obedience school' on Wednesday. Although she's incredibly smart, she still has a lot of puppy in her and needs some training to get her bad behaviors corrected.
Don't worry Dexty- I haven't forgotten about you!

Long Time Away
So it's been MONTHS since I updated... I adopted a beautiful tri colored Australian Shep from a rescue. She's a fantastic dog, and she adores Dexter! Although Dexter isn't necessarily always crazy about her, they are learning to live together. Her rescue name was Jeep, and a friend of mine suggested that I change it to "Jeepers". She has such a sweet and loving personality. We're starting obedience classes next week to help correct a few of her bad behaviors.
Pictures coming...
